Amy Carlson

 Amy Lynn Carlson (born July 7th 1968) is an American actress who is known for her role in the roles of Linda Reagan in the CBS police procedural Blue Bloods, as Alex Taylor on the NBC drama Third Watch, and Josie Watts in the NBC daytime soap show Another World.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Carlson was born in Elmhurst in Illinois in DuPage County Illinois which is near Chicago. Her family was raised in Glen Ellyn in Illinois by her parents, Robert Eugene Carlson and Barbara Jane (Hultman), teachers at school. She is of Swedish origin and has roots in Smaland.



 



 Career



 1986-1992: Early career as well as college



 Her first exposure to Hollywood through her role as a background actor in the movie Lucas featuring Charlie Sheen (Corey Haim) and Winona Ryder. She later followed her elder sister Betsy to Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
